Guy Thomas BSc (Hons) ACA MCT C.Dir

Chairman

With over thirty years’ experience in the financial services industry, Guy joined the Board in November 2017. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his time as Group Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer at The Principality Building Society, the sixth largest building society in the UK with assets of £8bn. Guy’s areas of expertise include treasury and risk management along with market operations, mergers, acquisitions and disposals. Guy also sits on the Board of Sainsbury’s Bank PLC.

Guy is a keen sportsman, and enjoys golf, tennis and skiing. When he’s not on a course, court or mountain, he is training for his private pilot’s licence.

John Elkington

Group CEO

After starting his career at GL Hearn, Best Gapp and Cassells Chartered Surveyors, John founded Penhurst Properties in 1987. From an initial investment purchase of a modest flat in Tooting, John’s knowledgeable and instinctive leadership has, with the ongoing support of the Board of Directors, helped build Penhurst Properties into a thriving and forward-looking property investment company with over 300 units in south London. The driving force behind the business, John is passionate about consistent growth and specialises in adding value to property assets.

John is an enthusiastic sailor and enjoys sailing around the Balearics on his boat, Mr Jack.

Stuart Page FCCA

Group Finance Director

Stuart brings 20 years of experience to Penhurst Properties, having previously held Portfolio Manager positions at two firms of Chartered Accountants before moving to Abbot Laboratories Ltd, a subsidiary of a US Fortune 200 company. A qualified accountant, his expertise centres on the preparation and control of company finances, audit, statutory accounts and Corporation Tax.

An avid rugby and boxing fan, Stuart spends most of his spare time with his young family.

Ricardo Trombetta

Director

Having previously held positions with leading London property companies, Ricardo’s wealth of experience and dynamic leadership style are both a huge asset to Penhurst. Uncompromising when it comes to quality and efficiency, Ricardo is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and development of the growing Penhurst Properties portfolio.

When not at the gym or out for a run, Ricardo enjoys watching rugby.

Michael Parker LLB

Director

Michael has had a long and successful association with Penhurst Properties going back over 20 years and is a much-valued member of the Board. Specialising in commercial property law and property finance, he is currently head of Real Estate at Bircham Dyson Bell where he uses his specialist knowledge to advise commercial clients including banks and investment funds. He brings with him a deep and extensive knowledge of London’s property market.

In his spare time, Michael likes nothing better than messing about on the river.

Richard Hickie FCA FIRPM

Director

Richard’s career has included stints with Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) and Hodgson Hickie and he is a co-founder of Resident Association Management Limited. A published co-author of How to Manage Your Own Block of Flats, his extensive knowledge and in-depth understanding of the property rental market is second to none. Richard is a Fellow of the Institute of Residential Property Management and a fully qualified Chartered Accountant. In addition to his position at Penhurst, Richard also sits on the ARMA advisory committee.

Richard enjoys taking walks on Romney Marsh and is a keen student of history.

Stuart Wells

Senior Consultant

After 15 highly successful years as Chairman of Penhurst Properties, Stuart now acts as a Senior Consultant and continues to use his wealth of invaluable experience gained from a career that has included over 30 years at Coutts (latterly as Head of Private Banking) and as Chairman of Guinness Mahon Private Bank. Alongside his consultancy role, Stuart is also the Chair of the Remuneration Committee at Penhurst Properties.

A keen member of The Goodwood Road Racing Club, Stuart spends much of his spare time running and maintaining his 1972 MGB.
