Corecore – Pizza Thursdays

It’s the last Thursday of the month at Penhurst House in Battersea, and like every last Thursday of each month at 4pm in the afternoon, the phones are put away and the laptops turn off whilst we transform the reception into a networking oasis. All our tenants and colleagues can step out of their offices, grab a slice of delicious Neapolitan pizza, get refreshed with a cold drink and relax or socialise.

Penhurst House prides itself on supporting local businesses, both outside and inside the centre.

Corecore Pizzeria is a Neapolitan style pizzeria which just opened at 40 Queenstown Road near to Penhurst Business Centre.  The founders, Giovanni and Carmen recently transitioned to a physical storefront and share a mutual interest with Penhurst for fantastic pizza!

This is what they have to say about our great relationship:

Q: What did you like about Penhurst Properties that made you decide to choose us?
We appreciated your professionalism, honesty, and respect from the very beginning.
In any business relationship, trust is fundamental, and with Penhurst we’ve always felt listened to and well supported.

Q: Who is behind the creation of Corecore, what does Corecore mean and how did you come up with the idea?
Corecore was created by us Giovanni and Carmen with the dream of opening our own pizzeria. The name comes from a Neapolitan expression, “core a core”, which means “heart to heart”, something we say when someone is in love with something.

Q: Is there a range or type of pizza that is more popular than others?
Yes, our most popular pizza is definitely salsiccia e friarielli  a true Neapolitan classic.
We use authentic Neapolitan sausage and friarielli (Neapolitan broccoli) delivered directly from Naples
. Carmen’s own favourite is our signature “Core a’ Core” pizza,
while Giovanni’s favourite is the fried pizza, a true street food classic from Naples.

Q: Which is the most traditional Neapolitan item in the menu that would transport the people of Battersea to Naples?
Definitely the Cuoppo Napoletano, which includes zeppole, panzarotti, It’s a very popular street food in Naples, and for us, it’s a direct connection to the heart of our city and our roots.

Q: What could local businesses in the area do more of to support you?
Even small things make a big difference: Talking to each other, recommending one another, and collaborating instead of competing. Supporting each other creates a positive environment for everyone

Q: Are there any special offers coming up you’d like to share with our team and/or the local public?
We’re preparing an exclusive promotion just for your team to say thank you for your support we’ll share all the details very soon!
