Guy Thomas BSc (Hons) ACA FCT C.Dir

Chairman

With over thirty years’ experience in the financial services industry, Guy joined the Board in November 2017. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his time as Group Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer at The Principality Building Society, the sixth largest building society in the UK with assets of £8bn. Guy’s areas of expertise include treasury and risk management along with market operations, mergers, acquisitions and disposals. Guy also sits on the Board of Sainsbury’s Bank PLC.

Guy is a keen sportsman, and enjoys golf, tennis and skiing. When he’s not on a course, court or mountain, he is training for his private pilot’s licence.

John Elkington

Group Chief Executive

John founded Penhurst in 1987 with the purchase of a single flat in Tooting. Successfully grown into a 300 strong portfolio, making John one of the country’s largest private landlords.

He is the driving force behind the business and is passionate about consistent growth and adding value to assets. Having started his career at GL Hearn Partners in the building surveying team followed by Best Gapp Chartered Surveyors.

In his spare time he is an avid Crystal Palace supporter and enjoys his house in the Balearics and travelling the wider world.

Ricardo Trombetta

Chief Operating Officer

Having previously held positions with leading London property companies, Ricardo’s wealth of experience and dynamic leadership style are both a huge asset to Penhurst. Uncompromising when it comes to quality and efficiency, Ricardo is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and development of the growing Penhurst Properties portfolio.

When not at the gym or out for a run, Ricardo enjoys watching rugby.

Stuart Page FCCA

Group Finance Director

Stuart brings 20 years of experience to Penhurst Properties, having previously held Portfolio Manager positions at two firms of Chartered Accountants before moving to Abbot Laboratories Ltd, a subsidiary of a US Fortune 200 company. A qualified accountant, his expertise centres on the preparation and control of company finances, audit, statutory accounts and Corporation Tax.

An avid rugby and boxing fan, Stuart spends most of his spare time with his young family.

Michael Parker LLB

Director

Michael has had a long and successful association with Penhurst Properties going back over 30 years and is a much-valued member of the Board. Specialising in commercial property law and property finance, he has recently retired from his role as head of Real Estate at BDB Pitmans where he used his specialist knowledge to advise commercial clients including banks and investment funds. He brings with him a deep and extensive knowledge of London’s property market.

In his spare time, Michael likes nothing better than messing about on the river.

Samantha Knight BA (Hons)

Director

Samantha’s brings to Penhurst Properties fresh and unique abilities, widening the Board’s capacity in the rapidly changing property world.

With over 10 year’s international experience in the real estate sector, mainly focusing on interior design for prestigious property companies and as adviser to design firms and private clients, Samantha will now add a new dimension to Penhurst’s developing and wider ranging portfolio.

When not focusing on her property design ideas, Samantha enjoys her social life in London and water sports in Mallorca or exploring the mountains on horseback.

Peter Hughes ACIB

Director

Peter’s career has been spent in banking in the West Midlands and Wales, latterly Managing Director of the Principality Building Society’s Commercial Division for almost 20 years. In that role, Peter’s division supported all aspects of the property sector which included large scale residential landlords and housing associations, alongside residential and commercial developers. Through this, and as a previous Chair of UK Finance Wales, Peter has forged strong links with many housing industry stakeholders at both policy and strategic level. Peter is Chair of RHA Wales, a social landlord which manages over 2,000 homes in the Rhondda Valley.

In his spare time, Peter enjoys travelling around the UK.

Jack Elkington MARLA

Executive Director – MD of Business Centres

Responsible for the lettings of our 300+ rental properties, Jack’s nascent career includes time at the Notting Hill Housing Association and Cluttons. As the next generation of Elkingtons to be involved in Penhurst Properties, Jack is enthusiastic about learning all aspects of the business his father John has built up over the past 30 years.
